Other details about the arrangements will be on the sign-up sheet.
Small Groups: Group members who have applied to join DHUK will participate in small groups. Group lists will be distributed closer to the time, but are broadly the same as before. If you are unable to make your allocated small group time, please contact Anne Marie on amkeary@gmail.com.
New Students
If this is your first weekend with DHUK, you’ll be contacted by Penny Kennington to arrange a meeting with a teacher before the weekend to give you some orientation and to answer any questions that you have. New students will not join the small groups, but will have a lunch meeting with Tejo and Lisa on Saturday. New students will also have priority for mini sessions on Sunday.
Venue Information and Transport Links
St Luke’s Community Centre
90 Central Street
South Islington
London
EC1V 8AJ
Tube
The venue is situated a ten minute walk and more or less equidistant from Old Street and Angel stops on the Northern Line Bank branch. Barbican and Farringdon stations are also quite close.
Food, drink, local cafes and food stores
There are some spaces within the building which we have informal access to for lunch. If the weather is fine the venue has some lovely outdoor spaces, including our own private area with benches outside the Garden Room.
There’s a water dispenser on the group floor, so bring your own bottle. There’s no kettle, fridge or kitchen area we can use.
There are two small cafes about 5 minutes’ walk away on Old Street. Further down Old St and on Whitecross Street, there is more choice (about 8 – 10 minutes/0.4 mile walk away). Nearby on City Road is a very small Tesco Extra and on Old Street near the tube station there’s a large M & S Foodstore, Co-op and Aldi (10 minutes’ walk).
COVID and Flu Protocol
We will not have a covid testing protocol this time. Please do not attend if you have any symptoms of something that may be infectious.
Zoom Attendance
We are will offer Zoom participation. If you will be attending on Zoom please inform Linda on Linda@Ridhwan.org, no later than Monday 10 April. Zoom links are emailed with registration.
Please contact Linda on Linda@Ridhwan.org with any questions about any of the above.
